Amazing for Non-Athletic Lifting

I’ve got nothing but nice things to say about this belt. It might sound dramatic to say about a weight lifting belt, but this belt has actually positively impacted my life in several wonderful ways. It has enabled me work a job I wanted but that I was unsure I was physically capable of doing, and may even be impacting my mental and digestive health positively.

After I ordered my belt, I got all the usual confirmations and notifications about shipping and all that. I got the belt in the mail a week later and was surprised at how slim and minimal it was. I was a little worried it was going to be uncomfortable and not very supportive…

Boy was I wrong!

Whoever made these belts knew what they were doing. Once you put it on, you can feel how cushiony it is and when you buy according to their size chart and follow that 3finger rule when fastening it, it hugs but doesn’t squeeze. I find the slight weight and pressure of it rather comforting in fact when I first put it on, much like those weighted blankets and hoodies that they make now. There is also some kind of device on the buckle that I’ve never seen that works with the Velcro in such a way that the belt has never loosen from where I set it when I first put it on. (I wish they could figure this technology out with leather fashion belts!). Over time, I imagine the Velcro might wear from repeated buckling and unbuckling, but I saw 2Pood has thought of that and has solutions available on their website, so I’m not worried about that too much. I wear this belt over an undershirt, not bare skin so I can’t speak to how it would feel over time on bare skin, but I honestly forget I am wearing it— and I wear it for 8 hours at a time.

At 5,2” and 110lbs, I’m a petite, middle-aged woman (36) with low overall muscle tone who recently took a job as an early morning stocker for a green grocer. I was a schoolteacher before so was used to being on my feet, but worried about lifting items that weigh up to 50 pounds for 40 hours a week. I had seen men in receiving wearing some kind of brace when I had my tour at my new job, and thought I’d better look into that too. I found this website and this belt after googling “women brace lifting.” The product description notes that a belt like this is helpful for repetitive lifting and the snake eyes design was perfect for work, where I’m not allowed to wear logos, graphics or patterns. My waist is 25 inches and the XXXS fit perfectly. This belt has been absolutely indispensable to me so far! Even on day one, when every muscle in my body ached, my abdominal muscles and lower back were spared. I can see how over-relying on the belt could prevent those muscles from being worked. But since my main concern was avoiding injury while breaking down pallets, pushing boats, and stalking shelves, it works fantastic for me! Not only that but anecdotally, I’m not sure why (I’m sure a medical professional would know why) but this belt so far has also controlled my IBS while I’m work, which was an unexpected benefit I didn’t think possible. Perhaps this is because it holds you tight around your belly button, slowing digestion (and often my digestion is quickened to a problematic extent when my IBS is active). There are days I have thought I was going to have tummy problems going in, but I feel better soon after shift start. The only thing I’ve changed is this belt, so I really believe this belt is helping me on that front as well. I love all the designs available and if/when I go back to teaching, I think I’ll buy another for when I need to lift anything in the classroom or when my IBS is active. I know this is primarily intended for body building, but I just can’t recommend this belt enough for any woman who, like me, is not predisposed naturally to develop good muscle tone, and who has a job or a lifestyle that requires you to be moving items repetitively. I don’t know how/ why it is helping my IBS, as I’m not a medical professional (and aren’t qualified to recommend it for such an off-label use). But I can tell you this, I’m going to talk to my doctor to make sure it’s okay for me to use it for that purpose because never before in my life have I had anything that works to pause my stomach upset temporarily on demand so that I go about the daily tasks of living without planning my routes to the nearest bathrooms in advance. If my doctor says it is healthy and everything for me to keep doing this, I expect I will keep returning to 2Pood for many years, as in that case I’ll always want one of these belts on hand, even if I no longer work jobs that require a significant amount of lifting.

In short, finding 2pood when Google could have directed me to a medical brace (which turns out to be what I had originally seen a coworker wearing) turned out to be a gift for which I am grateful. I will be buying more of these belts and recommending 2pood to others!

Great for shorter athletes, could be more sturdy

This is a great height of belt for someone with a shorter torso, I like it! I do think the overall quality could be better though, as it's not very sturdy feeling. I'm not sure how long it will last for.

Great belt

I like that you can’t feel it while performing your WoD and it is quick when needed to be used.

Love it! Just the support I needed!

Haven’t used a weight belt in a hot minute but been wanting to increase my lower body lifts. I workout solo and this belt gave me the confidence and support I needed to feel really good going heavy and deeper on my squats. Used it on my deadlifts too. Did my measurements based on the suggestions online and it fits perfect!!

Best bet ever

I have tried other belts in the past but this one is by far one hundred times better. It provides so much support and fits perfectly, I wouldn’t recommend anything else.
